A report on the National conference on ‘Research For Resurgence’ organised by RSS inspired Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal was held at the Visveswaraiyya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) from February 11 to 13 at Nagpur.

Nagpur: More than 700 academicians, researchers, bureaucrats, politicians and decision makers/policy makers from corporate houses attended the ‘Research For Resurgence’ conference that sought to chalk out a framework for ensuring research in the laboratories/academic institutions is made applicable for the development of India.

122

The conference was aimed at initiating a paradigm shift in research orientation so as to make it indigenous, holistic, integrated, and meaningful, and also imbibe an all-perspective ‘Bharatiya’ approach.

Smriti Irani, Union HRD Minister, inaugurated the three-day conference in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and Aniruddh Deshpande, senior educationist. The conference ‘Research For Resurgence’ was organised by Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal and supported by Bharat Niti. It was held at the Visveswaraiyya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) from February 11 to 13 at Nagpur.

“Why demonise Indian Science? Why demonise what was good in ancient Indian Science?” Irani asked during the inaugural ceremony. “When I say modern Physics is exemplification of Indic knowledge, it is seen as saffronisation attempt, but when I say that this is scientist Oppenheimer’s statement, it becomes acceptable.”

Questioning the attitude to ‘demonise’ Indian science, Irani said the BJP-led NDA government’s efforts have succeeded in getting the statue of ancient Indian Mathematician and astronomer Aryabhatta to be installed at UNESCO in April this year.

Fadnavis announced on this occasion that his government will set up ‘Model Laboratories’ on the lines of one developed by IIT Bombay in all districts of the state.

2

Seeking to clarify that the conference is not aimed at flying ‘Pushpak’ plane, Deshpande, the senior educationalist and a patron of the conference, said “Resurgence does not mean sticking to old prescriptions. It has to be a product of actualization (anubhuti). We have to ensure research is and would be suitable for the development of the country.”

Four parallel symposiums were held – Udyam, Sthapati, Manas and Naipunya. ‘Udyam’ was on Industry-Academia Collaboration, which saw nearly 30 CEOs and 30 vice-chancellors coming together to discuss and chalk a long term productive roadmap for Industry-Academia interface. R Gopalakrishnan, former director, Tata Sons, and Rajiv Modi, Chairman and Managing Director, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, were the panelists from Corporate side while S P Bansal, vice chancellor, Maharaja Agrasen University, and Yogesh Singh, vice chancellor, Delhi Technological University (DTU), were the panelists from academic side. Ajay Sancheti, Rajya Sabha member, inaugurated the symposium. Shalini Sharma from CII was the moderator for the session.

‘Sthapati’ was the session on Architecture and was organised by Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal in collaboration with Council of Architecture. The symposium saw some of the best architects from across the country coming together. These included Nimish Patel from Ahmedabad, Chitra Vishwanath from Bangalore and Anil Laul from Delhi amongst some of the prominent architects. Manas symposium was on Psychology. Anand Paranjape, who runs his own course in Indian psychology in Canada, was the main guest for the symposium, which also saw some of the most prominent psychologists come together for brainstorming.

Fourth symposium was Naipunya – Young Researcher’s workshop. This was aimed at sharpening the skills of young and budding researchers. Narendra Karamkar, who is a renowned mathematician and has worked with NASA for supercomputer design addressed the session. Unnat Pandit, who is OSD to Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union State Minister for Industries and Commerce (I/C), addressed the session. Pandit is an expert in IPR and is a major contributor in the new IPR policy design for the country.

Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, addressing the session on day two said, “Research is a rebellious process, as it always challenges the existing system or knowledge. It arises from inquisitiveness in students’ right from school. Even the best of the teacher just lectures on leaving no scope for answering the queries of the student.” Various technical sessions followed in four parallel sessions and select papers were presented as a part of these technical sessions in the post lunch session.

B N Jagtap, Head of Physics Department at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre addressed the main session on February 13. “In India, there is disconnect between science and society. It needs research that is inspired by the users, meaning it should be aimed at solving day-to-day problems of the society for better life. Neither pure basic research nor pure applied research can solve problems of the society,” he asserted.

This was followed by address by Madhavan Nair, former head of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). “Students in the country have immense potential, however, many educational institutions do not have enough means for research. That’s why the country lags on research and innovation,” said Madhavan Nair.

The keynote address by S Gurumurthy, noted right wing ideologue, saw overwhelming response from the audience. Gurumurthy said, “We do not have enough knowledge of our ancient Bhartiya Knowledge system, which has brought us disgrace.”

He told how ancient Bhartiya economical and industrial model are working successfully citing some examples of the same.

The concluding ceremony was addressed by Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, and Niti Aayog member V K Saraswat. Gadkari said the rural and agriculture sector should be accorded top priority. “The approach to tap huge potential in the country for developing indigenous technology and transferring it to the person at the lowest rung of the social leader, would be the true resurgence,” he stated. Dr Saraswat stressed the need for carrying out research for application for the masses. “Innovation is the essence of any research and research should be driven towards welfare and development of the nation,” added Dr Saraswat.

A 15 point framework was laid down as the outcome of the conference. This was discussed with the participants in a ‘Mukt Charcha’ (open forum) and the framework was modified with relevant suggestions/inputs. It was also announced at the end of the Mukt Charcha to establish a ‘Research For Resurgence Foundation’ at Nagpur.

‘Nothing anti-India should be tolerated’: RSS Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya’s interview to Economic Times

An interview of  Dr Manmohan Vaidya to Economic Times, February 28, 2016.

Opposition parties are increasingly targeting the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is the ideological mothership of the Sangh Parivar. Inside and outside Parliament, the Congress and the Left have squarely blamed the RSS for many of the controversies — including the suicide of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula and the standoff in the Jawaharlal Nehru University that have enveloped the Narendra Modi government. Dr Manmohan Vaidya, All India Prachar Pramukh of the RSS, defends his organisation and dismisses accusations against it as “frivolous and false”. Edited excerpts from an exclusive interview with Praveen S Thampi.

Dr Manmohan Vaidya, RSS

Dr Manmohan Vaidya, RSS

Ever since the BJP came to power in New Delhi, the RSS is being dragged into every controversy, from the JNU issue to a student’s suicide in the University of Hyderabad. Political leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and student leaders of JNU all accuse the RSS of having a hidden agenda that they say is being carried out by the ABVP and the Central government. How do you respond to these allegations?

The Congress, the Left parties and their leaders, even when they were in power, were consistently opposing and defaming the RSS over frivolous and false premise. Whenever they were in trouble they would blame the RSS now and then. But the people of Bharat began to see through their lies and stopped believing them. There is nothing new about it. All these allegations are unfounded and false.

When the ministry of human resource development instructed all Central university campuses to fly the national flag , the political stand adopted by its critics was to ask if the RSS flew the Tricolour in its office. What do you have to say to this?

To fly the national flag compulsorily in government-funded institutions is purely the government’s decision. Where does the RSS come into the picture? The national flag, by the way, has been hoisted on Independence Day and Republic Day at the RSS headquarters by its senior functionaries.

Does the RSS feel it is better to reach out to people directly through its new outreach programmes, like the IT Milans aimed at the new generation, than by replying to political allegations?

The people of Bharat are aware of the lie behind such political allegations. They know the RSS through the discipline and service of the swayamsevaks. As a result, people’s admiration, support and trust in the RSS is consistently growing. The RSS has been working to organise the entire society on the basis of a national character and discipline. Reaching out to all sections of society is a natural process of this mission. This has been going on since 1925. IT Milans began due to the emergence and specificities of the IT field. What has it got to do with political allegations?

You have clarified that the Sangh wants to bring change through social work and not through government. But ever since this government has come to power, critics have been accusing the RSS of implementing its ideological agenda through the ministries of HRD and culture. How would you like to respond to these critics?

In your question itself you have answered it all. When you describe them as critics of the RSS, they are bound to criticise the RSS even on false and baseless premise. The BJP is a party with an ideology that reflects in its manifesto that they had made public before the 2014 elections, saying what they will do if voted to power. Now that the people have voted them to power, they are implementing their manifesto. Let them fulfil the promises they made to the people.

The khaki shorts and white shirt ganavesh (uniform) has been the identity of the Sangh for a long time. Reports hint that a new uniform that is more contemporary is under consideration. Could you please elaborate on this?

Actually, selfless service and discipline is the identity of the Sangh swayamsevaks and they have been exhibiting it whether they are in uniform or not in uniform. And they will continue to exhibit the same (its core identity) even in the new uniform, if it gets changed.

Regarding the JNU issue, do you think there should be zero-tolerance towards anti-India sloganeering or should we bring such fringe groups into the national mainstream by reaching out to them proactively? How do you view the whole controversy and the government’s response to it?

Nothing anti-India should be tolerated. One should differentiate between anti-India and anti-government. There should be a process of dialogue, addressing the grievances and attempting to change the mind. But talking about this particular case/instance, it is not just sloganeering. It is the mindset that is consistently nurtured that leads to committing violence, or condoning violence, or supporting violence and anti-national activities.

What are the main topics that would come up at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) in Nagaur in March?

The ABPS is our largest policy-making body that meets once annually, every March. This time, the ABPS will meet on March 11 -13 at Nagaur in Rajasthan. An annual report of the organisational activities and achievements will be presented by sar karyavah (general secretary). Participants will share some of their new experiments, experiences, initiatives and observations. Annual planning for the coming year will also be discussed. From mid-April to June-end, there will be annual summer training camps (around 70 camps) of 20 days’ duration throughout the country. Detailed discussions about the planning of these camps will be held there. Along with discussing the present national scenario, some resolutions will also be taken up for discussion at the ABPS

Audi

Earlier, RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat joined Bharat Parikrama Yatra on September 08, 2013 at Seekar district of Rajasthan. RSS chief echoed the aims and concept of the Bharat Parikrama Yatra which was aiming the upliftment of rural Indian life. Bhagwat stressed on the conservation of water, soil, Cow, all forms natural resources. Bhagwat wished Kedilaya for the successful completion of Bharat Parikrama Yatra. This is the second visit of RSS Sarasanghachalak in the same year, who earlier joined Yatra in January 2013 at Panvel of Maharashtra.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat meets Sitaram Kedilaya Sept-8-2013-Rajasthan
Elaborating on the yatra, Sitarama Kedilaya said that a span of about 10 kilo metres will be covered on a daily basis by foot, after which he will take rest in the village that falls in the vicinity. The primary task he has to undertake will be to get in touch with the youth and the prominent members of the village and discuss important issues like care of sick. This will include the handicapped, blind etc. Other activities like taking a round of the entire village and engaging in a collective session of prayer at the village temple. This will help create a bond of great depth with the people, which will help the villagers realize that villages were, once upon a time, a single encompassing family. However, this feeling has taken a back seat now, which has led to a whole lot of problems everywhere. This has now escalated to national and international levels. The feeling of unity, along with creation of family bonds, if brought back to villages will ensure restoration of harmony to a great extent. This could be instrumental in the rekindling of the concept of ‘Vasudha Eva Kudumbakam’. And then, the journey will resume to the next village.
Sitaram Kedilaya has dedicated a slogan for the purpose. “Know Bharat, be Bharat and Make Bharat Vishwaguru”. The reason for the yatra is clear. The current trends that prevail are businesslike and commercial , where life is being seen only in terms of trade and profit. This unfortunately has given rise to poverty, unemployment and corruption everywhere. Another trend that prevails is that the world is now a battlefield, with life being nothing but constant strife. This thought stream has led to violence, terrorism and an existence hand with deadly weapons everywhere. This has led to deep turbulence and instability, with people all over the world making a mad scramble for any straw that will provide them with peace. And then this makes them realize that the road to solitude, ultimately happens to be Bharat. It is here that the relevance of the third and most important trend comes into being: “The world is a family and life is a revelation”.

Huddled inside the autorickshaw and watching in fright were four children from class 1 and 2 who the RSS worker, AV Biju, drives every morning to school. Mr Biju was driving down the route that he usually takes, a short-cut between two main roads, when he was attacked.

Biju was rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College with multiple stab wounds and is now said to be in stable condition. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder against five supporters of the Left party, CPM.

The young schoolchildren in the autorickshaw were escorted home with the help of local people, the police said. They were frightened and wailing, said sources at their school.

Kannur, seen as a political stronghold of the CPM, has for years witnessed frequent violent clashes between workers of the Left party and that of the RSS, the BJP’s ideological mentor.
Last month, a BJP worker was hacked to death at his home and in front of his parents allegedly by a group of CPM supporters in the district. In December, 1999, KP Jayakrishnan Master, a BJP leader and school teacher was murdered in class while he was teaching students, allegedly by CPI-M workers.
In assembly elections to be held in Kerala in May, the CPM-led Left alliance LDF is making a bid to wrest power back from the Congress-led UDF.

While the BJP has been a minor political player in the state so far, it has invested in building up its cadres for this year’s election and hopes to make an impact.

Analysis on RSS Sarakaryavah Report:

The recent anti-national outbursts in country’s premier institutions, indiscriminate and mindless violence in the name of reservation in Gujarat and Haryana, repeated attacks on security forces and communal frenzy over petty incidents notwithstanding, the change in the political sphere has instilled a new confidence in the people of Bharat and Bharatiyas living abroad. Their expectations have increased with the atmosphere of confidence that was developed. Therefore, those in power are expected to accelerate the process that has paved the way for this new-found confidence and make it more pronounced.

In his annual report presented to the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), the highest decision-making body of the RSS, Sarakaryawah Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi expressed serious concern over the issues related to temple entry for members of fair sex, attacks on security forces, growing communal frenzy and university campuses becoming hotbeds of anti-national activities in the recent past.

The annual meeting attended by elected representatives of RSS from all over the country besides the all India office-bearers of RSS Kendriya Karyakarini and RSS inspired organisations was formally inaugurated by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat and Sarkaryawah Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi.

Giving vent to his concerns over the ‘use’ of universities for breeding anti-Bharat activities, the RSS Sarkaryawah in his report said that when the renowned and premier institutions and universities generate people raising slogans calling for breaking of and destroying the nation, it naturally becomes a matter of grave concern for all the patriotic people, and when they find certain political parties and leaders supporting such activities and elements, their concern becomes all the more serious.

The RSS leader posed: “How, in the name of freedom of expression, slogans calling for breaking up and destruction of nation, can be tolerated, and how those found guilty and punished as per the law of the land for indulging in terrorist acts be honoured and eulogised as ‘martyrs’? This is an anti-national act in itself and those involved in such acts don’t have faith in Bharat’s Constitution, Law, Judiciary and Parliament. More serious matter is that these subversive elements have made these universities their den for years and no action is initiated against them.

The RSS wanted the Central and state governments to deal with such anti-national and anti-social elements with firm hand to ensure the sanctity and cultural atmosphere in these universities and learning centres by not allowing them to become the hubs of political activities.

With the steadily growing acceptance of the nationalist discourse the anti-national and anti-social elements are feeling uneasy and this was evident from the recent incidents in Hyderabad and JNU that have squarely exposed their conspiracy, the report said.

The report also referred to the violent agitations in Gujarat and Haryana in the name of reservation and observed that these agitations are not only a challenge to the administration but also weaken the social harmony and erode trust.

Taking a very serious view of the attacks on security forces, Pathankot Airbase attack being the latest, the RSS report said that these frequent attacks have become a big challenge to our security arrangements. However, the RSS praised the security forces for repulsing these attacks with valiant fight. The RSS wanted the government to further tighten the security arrangements and make them foolproof to stop recurrence of such incidents. It also asked the government to review the infrastructure facilities to develop border areas, border security and materials from time to time.

Commenting on Pakistan’s India policy, the RSS report quipped: “It seems that Pakistan’s India policy is decided by the Military establishment and not by the elected government and the incidents from Mumbai to Pathankot testify this.”

The report also mentioned the growing incidents of communal frenzy over petty issues at different places. This has also become a matter of worry for the patriotic and peace-loving people besides a challenge to the law-enforcing authority. The report referred to such communal violence in Malda in West Bengal, Muzaffarnagar in UP and other places.

Incidents of destruction of public and private property, attacking the police forces, throwing the rule of law to the winds, looting and burning business establishments, especially those of the Hindus are very serious matters and need to be tackled by rising over petty political interests, the report said.

The RSS called upon political parties and their leaders to take such incidents seriously and cooperate to restore the law and order situation and peace. This is possible only when political parties and the ruling parties shed their petty and parochial political interests, and make a combined effort in the right direction. No political party or person is more important than the national security. It is the responsibility of an efficient and strong government to instil confidence in the people about their security, the report said.

The current hot issue related to entry of women in temples also finds mention in the RSS annual report. Holding some social elements ‘inimical to the wellbeing of the society’ for raising this ‘unsavoury controversy’, the RSS annual report observed that this issue could only be resolved through discussion and dialogue and not through agitations.

Accepting that both men and women were allowed entry into the temples in the past and that due to some ‘unfair traditions’ there was discrimination against the fair sex members, the RSS advocated taking recourse to changing the mindset through proper discussions.

Warning against politicizing such sensitive issues, the RSS advised the concerned parties to launch efforts to bring about changes in the mindset at every level through joint efforts of social and religious leadership and temple administration.

Resolution No. 1

Need for effective health care and easy access to affordable medical services

It is most essential to pursue healthy and hygienic life style and provide access to medical facilities to the common people, for ensuring healthy and disease free life for all the citizens. Today, when the diseases arising out of unhealthy life styles are growing fast, medical services are becoming out of access for common citizens due to forbidding cost. Consequently, innumerable families are either getting indebted or large number of families are even deprived of their means of subsistence for want of treatment of the earning members of the family. Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha expresses its deep concern over this state.

For the sound health,  it is most necessary to accord significance to healthy diet, way of -living and lifestyle along with virtuousness, spirituality, yog, daily exercise and cleanliness. Children should be vaccinated timely. It is also very significant that society becomes free from all kinds of intoxications.  Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha is of the opinion that all the conscious citizens, including the sawaymsevaks should endeavour to arouse wider public awareness in this direction.

On account of concentration of medical facilities in the large towns, there is shortage of medical facilities in the remote  and rural areas. Large number of people are deprived of medical facilities due to inadequate medical facilities and shortage of medical personnel, and the long queues for admission,  diagnosis and treatment. Rising cost of medical education is one of the major causes for the expensive medical services and deterioration in their quality and credibility. Quality medical services should be accessible to all citizens, including women and children in the country. For this, well functioning medical services of all kinds and systems need to be expanded across the country especially in rural and tribal areas. Information technology should be effectively used for the continuity in treatment and expert counsel.

Hospitals run by various social, religious and community organisations  with charitable and philathropic attitude at various places in the country, have been providing treatment to the common people in society very effectively and judiciously. Government support needs to be extended to such endeavours, worth emulation. Appreciating all such endeavours, the Pratinidhi Sabha calls upon the country’s industry groups, voluntary and social organisations and charitable trusts to further come forward in this direction. From this perspective, public and community partnerships and co-operative institutions  need to be promoted.

The schemes of free distribution of medicines started in some states in last few years and the proposal made for 3000 generic medicine centres by the central government in the recent budget are welcome moves. To bring medicines within the reach of common people, promotion of generic medicines, effective control of drug prices and making of the patents regime humane is necessary. To ensure the quality of medicines, they should be regularly tested in the laboratories. Standardisation and development of methods of testing of medicines of Ayurvedic, Unani and other systems is also important.

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha calls upon all the countrymen, including swayamsevaks, voluntary organisations and the government to endeavour to make lives of all citizens disease free by awakening the society for healthy life style, child and mother’s healthcare, eradication of malnourishment and deaddiction against intoxication. For making all kinds of medical services accessible to common people, the central and state governments should bring requisite improvement in the infrastructure, policies and procedures, with the allocation of adequate resources. For this, coordinated expansion, regulation, teaching and research be promoted in all the systems of medicine, and the regulatory mechanism and statutory provisions be executed transparently.

Resolution No. 2

Accessible, affordable and quality education for all

Education is an essential means for the development of any nation and society for which; both the society and government are responsible for nourishing, promoting and patronizing it. Education is a tool for nurturing the seeds of attributes and potentialities of a pupil for development of his holistic personality. It is a primary responsibility of the government in a welfare state to ensure education and healthcare to every citizen along with food, clothing, shelter and work.

Bharat is a country with the highest number of youngsters. It is the responsibility of the government and society to make unhindered appropriate education available to its youth according to their aptitude, ability and quality for their participation in the scientific, technological, economic and social development of the nation. Today, all the parents want to impart good education to their wards. When there is appreciable rise in the number of pupils acquiring education, it has become difficult for them to get affordable quality education. Inadequate allocation on education and lack of priority to education in government policy during the preceding years has left open this field to the institutions with the motive of profit. Today, poor students are deprived of appropriate quality education. As a consequence, the growing economic disparity in the society is a serious concern for the whole nation.

In the contemporary education scenario, the governments must come forward towards its responsibility of allocating adequate resources and formulating appropriate policies. There is a need to curb the rising commercialization of the education sector so that the pupils are not compelled to acquire education at unaffordable costs.

The government should strengthen the autonomous self-regulatory mechanism for the education institutions in terms of their quality, infrastructure, services conditions, fees and standards so that its policies and are implemented in a transparent manner.

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha is of the opinion that every child should get value based, nationalistic, employment-oriented and skill-based education in an atmosphere of equal opportunity. It is utmost essential to ensure proper training, appropriate salaries and strengthen the dutifulness of the teachers to enhance their standard; both in state run and private schools.

Traditionally our society has played a vital role in providing affordable quality education to the common man. In today’s context also, all the social, religious organizations, corporates, educationists and eminent people should come forward in this direction owning their responsibility.

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha calls upon the Central and State Governments and local bodies to ensure availability of requisite resources and necessary statutory mechanisms for imparting affordable quality education to all. It also appeals to the society to come forward in this noble cause of imparting education especially in the rural, tribal and undeveloped areas so that a worthy, able and knowledge driven society is created which will play its important role in the development and upliftment of the nation.

Nagaur, Rajasthan March 13, 2016: In a major morphological change within the organisation, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today announced the change in Ganavesh (Uniform) from its traditional Khakhi Shorts to Wood Brown or also called ‘Coffee Coloured’ Trousers or Long Pants (Covering from the waist to the ankles).

Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi at ABPS Press Meet

Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi at ABPS Press Meet

The announcement was made by RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the press conference at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) at Nagaur, Rajasthan.

Samaanya jeevan mein full-pants chalti hai to humne usko sweekar kiya. Hum samaaj ke saath chalne wale log hain. Trousers are more common in normal life. We are people who move with times. So we had no hesitation (change in dress code)” said Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi.

Sangh ka pahchan nikkar ka nahi. As far as the physical training is concerned the design has been made with that point also in mind. ”  said Bhaiyyaji.

Reacting to the statement of Gulam Nabi Azad to compare RSS with the ISIS, RSS Sarakaryavah Bhaiyyaji said “It shows his Ajnan (Lack of common sense).”

“Reservation has helped the weaker sections of the society. If the affluent section of the society demands reservation, then it does not sound good. This refects a deviation from the thought of Dr BR Ambedkar and the Constitution.” added Bhaiyyaji.

RSS endorsed the entry of women for the entry of temples. RSS said, such sensitive issues should be resolved through discussion and dialogue and not through agitations.

So far, RSS Swayamsevaks had their Ganavesh as khaki shorts with grey belt and white full- sleeve shirts folded up to the elbow, with black caps on head, black lased shoes with khaki socks.

Large number of people is deprived of medical facilities due to inadequate medical facilities and shortage of medical personnel, and the long queues for admission, diagnosis and treatment.

Hospitals run by various social, religious and community organizations  with charitable and philathropic attitude at various places in the country, have been providing treatment to the common people in society very effectively and judiciously. Government support needs to be extended to such endeavours, worth emulation. Appreciating all such endeavors, the Pratinidhi Sabha calls upon the country’s industry groups, voluntary and social organizations and charitable trusts to further come forward in this direction.

Resolution No. 3

Practice Samarasata in day to day life

Bharat is an ancient nation and it has a hoary tradition of thought process. It is our realization and conviction that both the animate and inanimate world are born out of a single element and the same element resides in all the living beings. All the human beings are equal as the same divinity uniformly pervades every being. Rishis, Munis, Saints, Gurus and social reformers have strengthened this truth by their experiences and conduct.

Whenever our social structures and day to day conduct remained commensurate with these pre-eminent ideals then Bharat has been an integral, prosperous and invincible nation. When there was an erosion in practicing this noble philosophy of life, the society degenerated, a feeling of caste based disparity increased and an inhuman evil like untouchabilty was born.

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha is of the opinion that each individual should conduct oneself with samarasata ( social harmony )  in day to day personal, family and societal life on the basis of our eternal and timeless life ideals. It is this conduct that will eradicate caste discrimination, untouchability and mutual distrust from the society and all of us will experience an integral and samaras life free of exploitation.

Nation draws its strength from the society and strength of the society lies in the integrity, spirit and conduct of harmony and fraternity.  Our eternal ideals have the ability to create this. One should have conduct based on affinity, dignity and equality for all others as described in ‘Atmavat Sarvabhooteshu’  (all other beings treated as oneself), ‘Adweshta Sarva Bhootanam’  (malice towards none) and ‘Ek Noor te sab jag upja, Kaun bhaley, kau mandey’ ( From that one light the whole world was born, so how one is superior and other inferior). Any kind of discriminatory behavior and evil like untouchaility should be uprooted altogether. For the smooth functioning of the society, it is utmost essential that all the social and religious institutions in the society need to steer the course based on our hoary ideals of life.

Since time immemorial several great personalities and social reformers of our society have  presented an integral view point of the ideal social life to the nation, emphasizing on the changes in the individual and community conduct consistent with time, place and circumstances for the creation of the society based on equality and free of exploitation. Their lives, ideals and actions are forever a source of inspiration to the society.

The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha humbly appeals to all the revered Saints, preachers, intellectuals and social activists to actively contribute to the enlightenment of the society in this context. The Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha exhorts all the citizens alongwith swayamsevaks to maintain a conduct with samarasata and appeals to all the social and religious organizations to make every possible effort to strengthen this feeling of samarasata.

RSS on Four National Scenarios:

  1. Women and Temple entry: –In the last few days, some social elements inimical to the wellbeing of the society have raised an unsavoury controversy over women’s entry to temple. From the hoary past, we have been following a lofty tradition in which, in the religious and spiritual spheres, in matters of worship and piety, both men and women are naturally considered to be equal partners. Generally, both men and women are naturally permitted entry into the temples without any discrimination. Women also have been learning the Vedas and officiating as priests in temples in the natural course.
However, because of some unfair traditions, at certain places there has been a lack of consensus on the question of temple entry. Wherever such problems exist, attempts should be made to bring about a change of mind through proper discussions. It has to be borne in mind that such sensitive issues should not be politicised, and should be resolved only through discussion and dialogue, and not through agitations.
From the point of view of social well-being, through the joint efforts of social and religious leadership, and the temple administration, attempt should be made to bring about a change in mentality at every level.

2) Security Agencies are target of anti national forces:- Repeated attacks being made targeting the Security Agencies in the last few decades, has become a big challenge to our security arrangements. Our security forces have been successful in repulsing all such attempts made by our enemies, through their valiant fight. The latest example of such attacks is the one made against our Pathankot Air Force Base recently.
It is necessary to further tighten the security arrangements and make them foolproof so as to ensure that such incidents are not repeated anymore. Reviewing the efficiency of the Security Forces, the materials at their disposal, as also the officers in charge, necessary changes should be made.
To curb activities such as Illegal migration, smuggling, Pak-inspired terrorism, such activities should be strictly observed for taking remedial action. With this view, it is necessary to review the infrastructural facilities to develop border areas, border security, and the materials, from time to time.
It seems that Pakistan’s India policy is decided by the Military Establishment and not by the elected government. The incidents from Mumbai to Pathankot testify this. Presently, the whole world is concerned about the growing menace of terrorism.
3) Growing Communal frenzy in the country :- Incidents of violence and terrorist attacks at different places in the country have become a matter of grave concern for the patriotic and peace-loving people, and the law and order machinery. Under the pretext of small and big issues, people at different places, armed with weapons taking to the roads in large numbers and creating an atmosphere of fear and tension, as happened in Malda, has become endemic now a days.
Incidences of destruction of public and private property, attacking the police force throwing the rule of law to the winds, looting and burning of business establishments, especially those run by Hindus, had taken place. Political parties, giving up their policy of appeasement, should take such incidents seriously and cooperate to restore the law and order situation and peace. This will be possible only when political parties and the ruling parties shed their petty and parochial political interests, and make a combined effort in the right direction. No political party or person is more important than the national security. It is the responsibility of an efficient and strong government to instill confidence in the people about their security.
(4) University Campuses become hotbed of antinational activities: – In the last few months, reports about antinational and subversive activities in certain universities, has become a matter of concern. When renowned and premier universities, which are expected to groom patriotic citizens by imparting them the lessons of unity and integrity generate people who raise the slogan calling for breaking of and destroying the nation, this naturally becomes a matter of concern for the patriotic people. When they find certain political parties supporting such antinational elements, their concern grows further.
In the name of freedom of expression, how the slogans calling for the breaking up of and destruction of the nation, can be tolerated, and how the guilty, who had hatched the conspiracy to blow up the national Parliament, can be honoured as martyrs? Doing so it, itself will be treated as an antinational act. Those who do such things have no faith in our Constitution, judiciary, Parliament, etc. These subversive elements have made these universities the centres of their activities for long.
It is very delightful that the moment the reports about these incidents became public, there was all round condemnation from everywhere. We expect from the Central and State governments to deal strictly with such antinational and antisocial forces and ensure the sanctity and cultural atmosphere by not allowing our educational institutions to become centers of political activities.
Such incidents that pollute the social environment are sure to affect the social life.
The change that took place in the political sphere last year, has made people in Bharat and the Bharatiyas living abroad happy and proud. This mood has been discernible in programmes conducted by people of Indian origin in other world countries.
At the global level, the celebration of the “Yoga Day” by a majority of world nations is an indication of the acceptance of Bharatiya spiritual thought and way of life by the world at large.
The expectations of our people have naturally increased and an atmosphere of confidence has developed. Therefore we expect those who are in power to accelerate the process that has paved the way for this new-found confidence and make it more pronounced.
The acceptance the nationalist discourse has been gaining steadily and the resultant unease among the antinational and antisocial forces has come to light through certain recent incidents. The antinational activities at the Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad) University and the J.N.U. have thoroughly exposed their conspiracy.
Violent agitations in Gujarat and Haryana for the demand of reservation are not only a challenge.

RSS announced change in Ganavesh:

In a major morphological change within the organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today announced the change in Ganavesh (Uniform) from its traditional Khakhi Shorts to Wood Brown or also called ‘Coffee Coloured’ Trousers or Long Pants (Covering from the waist to the ankles). The announcement was made by RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the press conference at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) at Nagaur, Rajasthan.

RS on reservation demand by affluent class:

“Reservation has helped the weaker sections of the society. If the affluent section of the society demands reservation, then it does not sound good. This reflects a deviation from the thought of Dr BR Ambedkar and the Constitution”, stated RSS.
